FAQs
Answers to common questions about plans, AI credits, usage limits, API access, and embedding. Need more detail? Our team is happy to help.
AI credits power Kaleidr's AI features — AI map chat, AI-generated content, automated insights, Studio workflows, and other AI-powered map experiences. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance that resets at the start of every billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over; you start each cycle with the plan's full allowance.
A map load is one open or boot of a Kaleidr map: opening a shared map link, viewing a published or embedded map, or starting a basemap session through the SDK. Every plan includes the same monthly pool of 50K map loads — plans differ on AI credits, API access, and features, not on map loads. One map load covers roughly 20 individual tile requests, which Kaleidr never meters separately.
Yes. Kaleidr serves designed, OpenStreetMap-based vector basemaps from its tile CDN, and every plan includes the same monthly allowance of 50K map loads (about 1M tile requests). Enterprise customers can run custom volumes on an independent CDN when they need more.
Yes. Commercial use is allowed on every plan within its monthly map-load allowance. Pro covers higher-volume production use, and Enterprise supports custom volumes on an independent CDN. Satellite and hybrid imagery remain a separate licensed layer and are not part of the basemap offering.
Yes. The tile data derives from OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps under open data licenses (ODbL), so attribution to © OpenStreetMap contributors is required wherever the tiles appear. You can self-host the same open data yourself. Kaleidr's hosted tiles add designed styles, global serving, and zero pipeline maintenance when you prefer not to run that stack.
Yes. Pro includes developer API access with publishable keys and server keys. Developers and teams use those keys to connect Kaleidr maps, AI features, and embedded map experiences to their own websites, apps, or workflows. Free focuses on in-product exploration; API keys ship with Pro and above.
Yes. Free includes access to AI Map, Studio, and Analytics with usage limits. Kaleidr designed Free for users who want to explore the platform, build early map prototypes, and test AI-powered map features before upgrading. When limits become tight, Pro raises the allowances and unlocks API access.
Yes. Kaleidr supports embedded map experiences, especially on Pro and Enterprise. Teams add AI-powered maps, interactive map views, and related features to their own websites or applications through those plans. Embedding consumes the same monthly map-load pool as other published or shared map views.
Free is for testing and early exploration with included usage limits. Pro serves creators, developers, and teams that need higher allowances, API access, and embedded map support. Enterprise fits organizations that need custom usage limits, contracts, SLA coverage, dedicated support, and organization-level API infrastructure.
Yes. Enterprise plans customize to organization needs — AI credits, map loads, API usage, contract terms, SLA requirements, and dedicated support. Enterprise can also serve tiles from an independent CDN when volume or isolation requirements exceed the shared Pro pool. Contact the Kaleidr team to scope the right limits.
Yes. Users can start on Free or Pro and upgrade as usage grows. Teams that need larger limits, organization-level controls, custom terms, or dedicated support move to Enterprise when those requirements appear. Plan changes take effect on the next billing cycle unless you arrange otherwise with Kaleidr.
Kaleidr Enterprise fits organizations that need scalable AI map infrastructure, custom deployment terms, higher usage limits, dedicated support, SLA coverage, or organization-wide API access. Choose Enterprise when Pro's standard allowances and self-serve controls no longer match how the organization ships maps.
